What is Brazing

31-May-2023

Brazing is a method of using a metal material with a lower melting point than the base metal as the filler, heating the weldment and the solder metal to higher than the melting point of the filler metal and lower than the melting temperature of the base metal. The base metal is wetted with liquid filler metal, the joint gap is filled and diffused with the base metal to realize the connection of the weldment.

Advantages of brazing:
1、The brazing deformation is small, and the joint is smooth and beautiful

2、Brazing is suitable for welding precise, complex and components composed of different materials, such as honeycomb structural plates, turbine blades, cemented carbide tools and printed circuit boards etc.

Attention:

The workpiece must be carefully processed and strictly cleaned before brazing. Remove oil stains and overly thick oxide films and ensure the interface assembly gap. The gap is generally required to be between 0.01~0.1mm.
