Silicon carbide (SiC) is a material with high hardness, high melting point, high wear resistance, high thermal stability and good thermal conductivity. Its main characteristics are as follows:
(1) High hardness: The Mohs hardness of silicon carbide is 9~10, second only to diamond, and has extremely high wear resistance.
(2) High melting point: The melting point of silicon carbide is about 2700℃, and it has excellent thermal stability in high temperature environment.
(3) Good thermal conductivity: The thermal conductivity of silicon carbide is high, which is conducive to the transfer of heat energy.
(4) Anti-oxidation: Silicon carbide has good anti-oxidation properties at high temperatures and is not easy to react with oxygen.
(5) Corrosion resistance: Silicon carbide has good corrosion resistance to most corrosive media such as acids, alkalis, and salts.
